I had a fantastic pork sandwich with waffle fries and a side of Asian zing sauce. The sauce wasn’t what I was expecting (in a good way) and it did really have a nice vinegary zing to it. It was a great way to cut through the super savory sandwich when applied to the fries. Two of us ate and had a drink for under 40, basically unheard of in any town larger than the bustling metropolis of Spring Valley. 10/10 will come back.
We go in too late for food. "Stellar" tap lineup. The owner and blonde bartender were very hospitable and entertaining.
I eat out often and I swear this has been the best place i think I've ever eaten at. Yum! And the environment and people all amazing!
5/21/25 This is an addendum to my first review 3 years ago. This crew is even better (didn’t know that was possible after the first trip). The food is excellent. This is not typical bar food. They have everything from an Asian Zing salad to street tacos, to burgers, pastas and more! They have high-end, reasonably priced cocktails like the Chang (coconut vodka, coconut water- not too sweet but a nice tropical, refreshing taste), Moscow mules and over 20 beers on tap!!! Alex makes great conversation and you can tell he cares about the customers! Thanks for many great experiences!! This place is amazing. Spring valley is a small town and this trifecta of bakery, bar/restaurant, and boutique blow it out of the water! Kerrinn (Corrine- I apologize if I spelled it wrong) and the bartender and cook -Aaron and I forgot the other one because the beers were so good! I had a flight with the peanut butter porter, the Minnesconsin, and the Oreo! They were so good! The Iowa Chop was huge! I ate about 1/3. The asparagus was cooked perfectly! The raspberry sauce was good but I heard there’s an exciting new fall sauce coming soon! The staff is friendly! cool atmosphere! (And who talks about the bathrooms, but wow! This one has a cool touch!) We will be back!
My friend and I had the chipotle wrap with sweet potato fries, and the pulled pork sliders with pub chips. Everything. Was. Amazing. The Homemade ranch, BBQ sauce and chips were delicious. Jordan was an excellent server and bartender and gave us great recommendations.
In the area camping and the rain drove me to town for dinner (wet firewood ;-) ). Had the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich and waffle fries with a pint of beer. Dinner was excellent! Will have Steller 181 on my short list of dining opportunities when in the area camping again. Great selection of area craft beers on hand.
We finally made it here. The owner of this restaurant has been a customer of ours for years, so when we walked in, we didn’t know what to expect. The wooden decor was all done by him and very nice! The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming! I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki sandwich with Sweet Potato waffle fries and the wife ordered the Dirty burger. Both were uniquely different and very tasty! We will definitely come back and try different items. Congratulations and Good Luck with business!
We Ate there 6/7/25 for the first time. Great food excellent service. Smoked iowa pork chops special was the best I ever had in my life hands down. Plus Great Bourbon selection server Jacqueline is a Sweetheart ask for her.
